Humyara and Michael / Botanic Gardens / Sydney

Traditions, Tigers & Tulle

Humyara and Micheal's wedding was a super fun, vibrant blend of Chinese and Bengali traditions, infused with a bold colour palette of reds and pinks. They wanted to honour their shared cultures, so they went all in with rich reds, vibrant crimson, and pops of pink, creating a look that was both modern and meaningful.

The flowers were a total showstopper, designed with a sleek, sculptural vibe that added serious impact to the space. Colour-blocking brought depth and personality, with a mix of textures that kept things balanced and visually interesting. The floral lineup was packed with dramatic blooms like phalaenopsis orchids, spider orchids, hydrangeas, roses, dahlias, gerberas, and sweet peas, all arranged to really pop in the bold, contemporary designs.

The real centrepiece at the reception was this incredible sculpture of an entwined tiger and dragon, symbolising unity, strength, and grace—Vogue even called it “the star of the show.” Surrounded by striking red and pink flowers and draped in airy tulle, the piece was created by Sydney artist Simon Greiner, together we nailed the couple’s vision with style and surprise.

Humyara and Micheal wedding was the perfect blend of tradition and modern style, with thoughtful touches that made it uniquely theirs. It wasn’t just a wedding—it was an unforgettable celebration that honoured their cultures while bringing their shared vision to life.
